Do you want to talk about it?

I actually wrote this about 9 months ago.

I didn’t know I had anxiety.

Since talking about it I’ve realised a lot of people have it.

The kids coming in to my life was the happiest and toughest experience of my life. It definitely bought a lot of issues to a head. Ha ha literally!

Below is not how I feel today. Today I feel better. I have for a while, my head is quieter and I’m happy.

Still nervous to share this, but I’ve been inspired by people’s honesty this week so here goes.

Do you want to talk about it?
Well maybe I can’t explain,
About the thoughts that go round and round in my brain.

Do you want to talk about it?
Maybe but can I hear,
Above the thousand thoughts that are ringing in my ears.

Do you want to talk about it?
Maybe but I feel so self indulgent,
I don’t really know what I’m worried about,
But it’s like a cloud of fear and doubt.

Do you want to talk about it?
Maybe not today, and if I say I don’t; will you think that I’m ok?
Or if I say that I’m not ok will you start to worry?
Because if you worry then I’ll worry and then I’ll be constantly saying sorry,
Because then I’ll of upset you, said something wrong,
And you’ll think that maybe I’m just singing from the same old song.

Have I just made it all about me?
When you look is it selfish you see?
I don’t think I’m selfish but I’m worried that you think I am,
So I’ll just stick to my original plan.

Do you want to talk about it?
No I’m ok, what have you been up to today?

……….,..,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Theres no one size fits all rule to mental health. The happiest most outgoing person might be struggling.

All you can do is support. I was lucky to have loads of it. Thank you. You know who you are x.

As a fellow anxiety sufferer I recognised a lot of myself in this post. There is no one size fits all. And it isn’t always apparent who is struggling. I know a friend of mine said, but you’re the strongest woman I know. #thesatsesh
